Common Sense 2.0

Back in 1776, a pamphlet was written. This pamphlet was called, "Common Sense," written by the famous Thomas Paine. Thomas Paine's Common Sense had challenged the royal monarchy and the authority of the British government. This was the first work that openly asked independence from the British.

Recently in 2011, a new work was written. As this is the 21st century, this is no pamphlet. This is an ebook written by a fellow American who goes by the name, John Smith. America is currently going through an era of growing government, high unemployment, lower wages, a lower standard of living, and an era of where America is losing it's place as number one in the world. This may be the first time in history where the future American generations are poorer than the current ones.

If we do not make changes, and fast, we Americans are in for one hell of a ride!

The Decline

The United States of America is on a decline and it is scary. This will not just affect your future, but it will also affect your children's future and your children's children's future if we do not put a stop to it.

The unemployment rate is at around 9% and there are no signs of it dropping! American students continue to fall behind the rest of the world in test scores! College costs are through the roof! Health care costs are through the roof! Social Security is on an unsustainable path! The United States government is under piles of debt! The standard of living is dropping!

Who to blame for this decline? It is not all President Barack Obama's fault. It is not all former President Bush's fault. In reality, it is a bit of everyone's fault. Since most of us all contributed to the decline of America, it will take a lot of us to turn it around.

If "a large amount" of us American's work together in supporting the country we love, America will turn around from it's current decline. If "most" of us American's work together, America will turn around from it's decline and in addition, race forward and burst into prosperity.
